From track to screen: OMP, Bell Racing and Racing Spirit in the F1 movie

In June 2025, the highly anticipated F1: The Movie premiered in cinemas worldwide, marking a moment of immense pride for OMP, Bell Racing, and Racing Spirit. For the three Racing Force Group brands, it was the culmination of over two years of work as official suppliers of racewear, helmets, and uniforms for the fictional APX GP team at the center of the storyline.

The collaboration closely resembled that with a real team. Notably, OMP’s top-tier fireproof products – such as the ONE-S suit – and Bell Racing’s advanced helmets, worn by actors Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, as well as their stunt doubles, were all FIA-homologated models. This ensured the same stringent safety standards used in real competitions during on-track filming. Meanwhile, Racing Spirit outfitted APX GP crew members with technical apparel designed to blend style, visual identity, and performance under all conditions.

In the movie, two-time Academy Award winner Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a rising F1 star in the 1990s before a track accident nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, confined to the lower categories of motorsport, he is approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (played by Javier Bardem), owner of the financially struggling APX GP team. Ruben convinces Sonny to return to F1 as a mentor to rookie driver Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris).

Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by a team that included Jerry Bruckheimer, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, F1: The Movie was conceived to bring an unprecedented level of authenticity and realism to motorsport cinema.

To achieve this goal, the involvement of OMP, Bell Racing, and Racing Spirit was essential from the outset, allowing the three brands to write another memorable chapter in their respective histories.

Stories of races, drivers, and passion.
